How Did Drishyam 3 Break the 5 Billion Box Office Record?

The suspense gripping audiences in Drishyam 3: The Conclusion extends far beyond the silver screen and straight into the global box office records. Much like the shifting odds in a high-stakes session at Panalo999, the financial trajectory of Abhishek Pathak's Hindi-language thriller kept analysts guessing from its theatrical release on October 2, 2026. Starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, the film defied standard second-week drop-offs by crossing the 5 billion rupee mark in a mere 12 days, cementing its status as the highest-grossing entry in the franchise.

By October 13, global ticket sales had reached 5.018 billion rupees, translating to roughly 60 million USD. The domestic Indian market showed remarkable resilience. Though the second Monday saw a routine dip to 60 million rupees, Tuesday rebounded sharply with 85 million—a 41.7% day-over-day surge. The film maintained a firm grip on over 10,000 screens in its second week, pulling a steady 28% night-show occupancy that proved audiences were still highly invested in the narrative.

With an India net of 3.235 billion rupees, the Hindi conclusion easily outpaced Drishyam 2 and its 2.396 billion net record. Overseas markets contributed a massive 1.14 billion rupees, marking the first time a project led by Ajay Devgn crossed the 1 billion threshold internationally. Shot across Mumbai and Goa between December 2025 and June 2026, the production clearly resonated with a global demographic eager for a definitive end to the mystery.

The franchise's foundation remains rooted in its source material. The original Malayalam-language counterpart, Drishyam 3: The Past Never Stays Silent, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, arrived in theaters earlier on May 21, 2026. Following its theatrical run, it became available for streaming in the Philippines on Amazon Prime Video. Mohanlal, who led the Malayalam cast alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Murali Gopy, and Asha Sharath, publicly praised the Hindi team for bringing this celebrated series to such a satisfying close.
